Exceptional Baitball Action, A friendly Minke, and GREAT WHITE SHARKS!
Another two trips left the dock today, each with their own VERY unique sightings!
In total we watched :
2 Humpback Whales
20+ Minke Whales (Our most ever!)
50 Common Dolphins
4 Great White Sharks
The morning trip was beautiful. Flat seas, sunny skies, and blue water! Our friend and naturalist Ralph Clevenger was onboard and spotted a giant flux of birds from 4+ miles awy. Upon arriving on scene the sightings were epic! 20 minke whales and a young humpback whale were feeding in the area. This is the most minke whales we've ever recorded on a trip, at times we were absolutely surrounded by minkes and the humpback as they gorged on anchovies. The humpback gave us a few lunges as the minkes stayed on the perimeter. It was just incredible as the video belwo shows.
The seconf trip was equally amazing in its own way! The humpbacks moved out of the area by the time we returned, but minkes were still prevalent. One of the minkes came over to checkout the boat, swimming underneath us multiple times!
We then sent it over to our favorite shark beach to check out some great whites! We found 4 of these juvenile apex predators cruising the shore line. A cool and unique experience we're sometimes able to fit into our trips.
