10 humpbacks; lunging and breaching!

A perfectly flat day in the channel graced with wildlife. The day unfolded as follows.
We ran east where the muggers from yesterday were found, but to no avail. We then ran the island drop off west along the coast of Santa Cruz Island. Here we watched the majority of our whales. The first pair we encountered was a bit friendly, highlighted by close passes and trumpet blows. Without a moment's notice, one of the giant whales breached fully out of the water right next to us! We then watched another pair close by as 4 other whales were in the nearby distance, a total of 8 here.
As we sped home, not 2 miles from the harbor, we found a pair of humpbacks lunge-feeding! Dozens, if not hundreds, of sea lions were with them as well. We soon caught up with ~40 coastal bottlenose dolphins who were very active, before entering the mouth of the harbor.
Until Next Time,
The SBWW Crew
