Humbacks EVERYWHERE! | 19+ Humpbacks, 1,000 common dolphins

Humpbacks were everywhere as we spent a gorgeous day in the SBC.

A breaching humpback caught our attention as we reached the feeding grounds. Upon arrival on scene, we spent time with 3 humpback whales. All were relatively younger animals and had black tail flukes.

A bit to the south we found a group of 6 whales all traveling together following a pod of dolphins. In the mix was our old friend "Jor," a whale that has been sighted since 2008. Jor has a big bite out of her right tail fluke making her very easy to identify.

We soon sent it west after getting a nice look at a breaching whale. It flew out of the water with incredible grace and power! Followed by a few chin slaps.

We continued west for a bit until we stumbled upon a cow/calf pair. The calf was small and covered in lesions and barnacles. It seemed to be in okay health as it was rolling around with its mom playing at the surface. From here we continue on watching single whales as we went. Whale spouts were everywhere, we spent time with as many as we could.

Our final two whales of the day were loosely associating with each other. They were two large whales. One with a giant white fluke and one that did some surface lungefeeding. It was the perfect wrap to a great day at sea!
