A spectacular day with 8 Killer Whales!

Spring is in the air, and so are the killer whales! Our second sighting within a weeks time, orca are certainly on the mind for our passengers and crew .

A report from our friends on the Stardust fishing boat came in alerting us to a pod of orcas in the channel. 30 knots and 15 miles later, we were on scene with 8 killer whales. Moms and calves made up the group and they soon began hunting a small sea lion.

The hunt was over before it started highlighted by one giant cartwheel. Before the families shared the meal between themselves, they paraded their catch around. Our drone was able to catch quite the glimpse!

Notice the sea lion in the orca's mouth at the top of the screen.

From here they shared their meal, spyhopping as they went.

They soon began breaching and porposing out to the west. Showing incerdible endurance, power, and speed!
