11 Humpbacks and a late-season gray whale!

Today's adventure was filled with a wealth of wildlife! We enjoyed watching 11 humpback whales, including two separate cow/ calf pairs. Most whales were relaxing and enjoying the calm weather. We found ourselves in a current line, where we encountered numerous "sea pickles," or pyrosomes. These pink pickle-like creatures blow into town when phytoplankton numbers are off the charts. Here we also watched a small mola. On the way home, we watched a single northbound gray whale for one sequence. The whale appeared a bit thin but was chugging north back to its feeding grounds in a hurry!
Until Next Time,
