2 humpbacks and Pacific White Sided Dolphins along the Islands

This report is from Saturday October 24th, 2026.

Trip totals include :

2 humpback whales (cow/calf)

40 pacific white sided dolphins

Absolutely stunning conditions graced the channel today, after a windy day yesterday. We crossed the channel without an animal in sight! Weied! We enjoyed beautiful looks at painted cave which had a small trickle of a waterfall in it.

Outside of the cave and to the west, we found a stunning group of Pacific White Sided Dolphins. Probably around 40 dolphins in total, they were actively feeding along the island shelf. Captain Adam hasn't seen this species of dolphin in the channel since 2023!

West of the dolphins and on the same line, we found a cow/calf pair of humpback whales. We got great looks at these whales as they displayed their tail flukes along the island drop off.

Until Next Time,

The SBWW Crew
