Today was AWESOME! Our crew joked that the whales would become better and better throughout the day. This couldn't have been more spot on! The day unfolded as follows.
The first whale we encountered was a shy individual feeding with sea lions. We got a few decent looks before continuing. The second and third whales of the day were a lovely pair moving west. They put up their mighty flukes and allowed us to get some great looks. Another whale was spotted in the area. The fourth whale popped up right next to the boat! Circling us once before continuing on. Its close proximity was unexpected, but its departure was even more so. WE WERE READY FOR A MUGGING! The whales seemed to have listened as the next pair (whales 5 & 6), would mig us for 30 minutes. They circled our boat, often surprising passengers as they ascended in the dark green water. In the distance, we spotted a huge group of whales lunge-feeding! Whales 7-12 were actively feeding with sea lions and enjoying a beautiful summer day.
Until Next Time,
The SBWW Crew
