A Lungefeeding Humpback! | 1 Humpback Whale, 2,500 Common dolphins

Beautiful sea conditions graced the coastal waters today leading to a heap of feeding activity.

Giant bait balls of anchovies were everywhere today as we continued west along the 18 line. After an offshore adventure yielded nothing but wind and swell we headed towards the Gaviota coast and got on a single humpback whale. The whale was hard to get a look at at first before it b-lined and headed right towards a giant bait ball. Before you know it, BAM! It lunged upward with a mouthful of anchovies.

It was a beautiful day surrounded by marine life in the Santa Barbara Channel.

Until Next Time,

The SBWW Crew
