3 Humpbacks off Santa Rosa Island

Another nice day with humpback whales off of Santa Rosa Island!

We first came across a young juvenile whale. It showed us its tail while it stuck to a predictable 5-minute dive sequence. As we were watching the juvenile, two large adults breached back to back nearby! We watched them as well and enjoyed their calm nature after their active demeanor subsided.

We then sent it to Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island to take a break from the 12 knots of wind in the channel. The cave was gorgeous and the little swell allowed us to put our 28' Axopar pretty far into this oceanic cavern.

Until Next Time,

The SBWW Crew
